Sunset in Truk Lagoon

Truk Micronesia

Here is a sunset photo I took while on a dive trip to Truk (Chuuk) Micronesia in 2006. Truk was the site of a World War II battle known as Operation Hailstorm. The lagoon is littered with sunken Japanese ships, which are amazing to dive. Some of the ships are pretty far down… The deepest dive we did was the San Francisco Maru, which is a 385 ft. long cargo / passenger ship that sank upright, and full of cargo in about 200 ft of water. I will try and post some UW pics of that dive soon.

It seems that for one reason or another I haven’t been able to shoot any worthwhile new photos this week. I have had a few opportunities to get what I thought could be a great image, but I was rushed to get somewhere or do something and couldn’t stop. Those locations are now in the memory banks though, and I’ll keep an eye out for another opportunity there. I am however excited about an opportunity I will have this weekend to get some photos, if the weather holds out. I don’t want to give it away, but look for pictures of some large, very carnivorous creatures, not at all native to Texas, (thankfully) to pop up here soon.
